Back at School again...

Today marked my first day at school. Yeah, back at grad school...I know, I can practically imagine my mom saying, "Will this madness end?"

Sadly ma, there's no end. Unless I die or my brain dies, then I won't learn anymore...hehehe...seriously. This is the last time I'll work on a masters degree. The next time, hmm, I promise it will be a Ph.D., at least be a "quack" doctor, but still a doctor, right ma? Hehehe. Just don't ask me about diseases. You won't get a decent answer from me.

So anyways, why go back to school? It seemed such a waste not to work on a degree when all I need is just 18 units. I know, 18 units, JUST? Hello? Nope, okay, let's change that, I have to work on 18 units more before I get that elusive masters degree in special education majoring in developmental delay. A certificate is perfectly fine but I wanted more, yeah, greedy ole me.

Last night, I tried to sleep early, to no avail. Since I work nights, more often than not, I'm still quite hmm, hyper when its around 12. And last night was no exception. I tried reading, listening to my shuffle but still, the arms of Morpheus wasn't anywhere near my bed.

Finally, I fell asleep around 1:30 am, I know because I went to the bathroom for the last time. I had set my alarm clock to 5:30 and 6:00 am. 5:30 am was for the warm up and the 6:00 ring for the real time that I would actually wake up. Guess what time I woke up? 7:00 am...grrr..I woke up around 6:30 but my poor eyes couldn't open. Well, they could a little, but my body refused to budge from the bed. On a normal workday, I'd be up around 8:30 or 9:00 am but to wake up at 6:30? It was like pure torture.

So finally, my guardian angel nudged me awake and I got out of bed around 7:00 am. I tried to take a shower as fast as I could but it usually takes me 30 minutes. I even skipped breakfast, hey, I just remembered that. I didn't even eat one cracker but I just had water.

I didn't even bother to dry my hair. Luckily, the night before, I had my stuff ready. My handbag with my wallet, allowance, my receipt just in case they would like to see it as school (stranger things could happen), my trusty umbrella just in case it rained and my yellowpad and ballpen. So I just grabbed my bag after dressing up and stuffed two packets of Rebisco biscuit just in case I got so hungry but won't be able to leave the classroom.

I was planning to walk going out the village but if I did that, it would take me about 10 minutes so I took a tricycle to go out. Then luckily, there was a Tas Trans bus going to Sta. Cruz so I boarded that. It was Sunday and the bus was kind of full so they didn't really take their time picking up passengers along the way.

It was already 8:10am when I got to Manila City Hall. As usual, I walked from there going to the underpass to the other side ending up in Intramuros. I took a jeep going to Intramuros and then walked / ran going to the campus.

I checked the schedule and I saw that there were 3 education classes going on simultaneously. There was a list of students posted on the door and I saw my name in the Research Methods and Statistics class of Dr. Nunez. So I went inside the room using the other entrance.

The class was already starting and I was just relieved that he's not the type of professor who starts screaming abuse if someone's late. I know, they're within reason to get mad, but by golly, if you have to be up early on a Sunday morning and then work the rest of the week, then you do need some slack. And besides, we're old enough to know what we're supposed to do and if we miss anything because we're tardy, then the heck its our fault and you don't need to blow it out of proportion.

I found an empty seat at the back right next to the ac. I sat there and I was glad that I did. At least the AC wasn't blowing at me directly and which makes me frequently go to the bathroom as my gall bladder isn't shy at all.

In the morning, we pretty much discussed a lot of topics, mostly about Chapter 1 and 2 of a research paper. We're also required to submit by mid December a concept paper on what topic we would like to take on for the Case Study. Hmm, I wish it was that easy. That means that I have to start reading on researches on Special Education. I'll try to do it online.

I only saw one classmate from the certificate course that I took a couple of months back and we were able to catch up on some news about some of our classmates who have already left for abroad. Well, good for them. But personally, I'm not in a hurry. I still need a lot of hands-on experience when it comes to special education.

Then we had a break for lunch. As usual, I went to the canteen and had lunch. It was that time that I missed Jenneth. Usually, we would eat together and then chat / gossip. It was the best time ever. Oh well.

After that, I went back to the classroom to wait for the time.

When class resumed by 1:00, Prof. Nunez continued the discussion on Chapter 3 which was quite lengthy on Methodology.

When I was taking my masters in JRU, we also spent a lot of time on Methodology. Probably because you need to make sure that your sampling techniques are not biased and are really appropriate for the research. Next meeting, w'ere supposed to bring our calculators because we were going to do some calculations. That sounds exciting!! I'm not that good with Math but I get by.

Then we went home...wo hoo..at least we didn't stay too late. I was really sleepy in class and I tried to listen. And made a lot of notes. One thing I can say about him, he likes to write, which is great since I need to write and listen to be able to remember.

I took the bus going home and I remembered to buy rice before going to the house. The funny thing was, it started to rain when I got home. Just drizzling anyways.

Since I was soo sleepy, I decided to take a nap and when I woke up, it was quite dark. It was already 6:00 pm. As usual, I heated the leftovers that I had and then I had dinner. I also got to watch TV. There's this juicy piece of intrigue involving Christine Reyes and Carlene Aguilar over Dennis Trillo. I used to think he was like nice, but looking at what's happening and him denying that his gf or is it ex-gf was having his baby (he kept on denying it) only to admit later on, yuck!!!! Is that what they call men nowadays? I'd rather stay single...hehehe...Poor Carlene though, you can either look at it two ways, she's been rejected by Dennis and now she's the poor girl scorned, or she's just standing up to her rights for her son. Oh well. And Christine? Yeah well, for someone so young, she's sure involved in a lot of controversies, whether they're true or not. But they're in showbiz, so the more they're talked about, the better it is for their career. I think in the end, its Dennis' son who's in the losing end. Poor baby.

After dinner, I had to do my ironing as usual. And then I put my clothes away and made sure that I had my work clothes lined up for the week. Usually, so I don't have to think about what to wear, I pick them out from the closet and then hang them where I can see them. For this week, white seems to be the color as I have most of my white shirts there. And of course, the usual jeans.

And now, I have time to go online, write my novel, post in my blog, listen to music and maybe have time enough to play Neopets.

I just hope that I actually sleep around 1 am today. With that over the top nap, it was more like sleep...hehehe...
