Moving the Clocks

Yes, this morning, at 2 AM, was when we had to turn the clocks forward...hu hu hu. I already lost an hour of sleep and yet I hadn't slept yet. Hehehe...oh well. Lucky Arizona and Hawaii, and I don't know, is there another state that doesn't do that?

Oh well. On the bright side, hmm...it wasn't that bright when I had to get out of bed. Usually, the sunlight hits my eyes when I wake up. Hehehe...but today, no. The day wasn't that bright and yeah, my bf woke me up, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed while I on the other hand, just mumbled on the phone. Hehehe...that's just me. Takes me awhile before I get out of bed. But it was a good wake up call. After sufficiently warming myself, er, engine, I got out of bed, and made a good breakfast. I made fried rice, bacon and heated the leftovers that I had last night. I still had fried chicken and siomai leftover from last night. Plus apple juice, since I had ran out of Dole Juice, except for Pina Colada, which I just found awful, ughh...So I had me a nice big breakfast. Then another phone conversation and I was off gobbling down my food as best as I can. Did the dishes and the pans.

Then a long warm shower, well not that long anyways. And now, I'm just lazing away the day, well not exactly. But mornings are for not doing too much while afternoons are for catching-up-on-what-I need to do for tomorrow. In which case, they are numerous. I never run out of things to do. But on the bright side, I only do laundry now every two weeks. I really get my money's worth when I have to wash those dirty clothes. Lol. I can imagine my mom's face not being too happy with that. But let's face it, I don't really commute, the apartment I live in isn't really next to a major thoroughfare so I'm sticking to my story that my clothes aren't that dirty yet. Not my jeans anyways, lol. If they can survive in the Philippines for two weeks, well, a little less anyways, then they can certainly survive not being cleaned for about two weeks here too.

I had something interesting to read in Yahoo about leftover, er layover foods and about shopping. I agree, I do shop every two weeks. Shopping every week, seems to be a luxury, at least for me. But that doesn't mean I don't go to Target...hehehe...dang, I should follow my own advice. But usually, for food items, I like shopping at Trader Joe's. I don't know, after that "name of a place" where I got something that wasn't too fresh and I started breaking out, I just freak out if I have to eat something that's not from TJ. Or maybe that's just psychological. I should probably try something else, like fish, which I miss so much once in a while. We'll see where my courage takes me, lol. Or maybe something fillet in TJ.

But yeah, back to shopping, food shopping, yeah about every two weeks. That's when I look forward to eating my "salad." Hehehe, which I normally don't ever eat back home. I used to say, why would I eat them, they're still alive, alluding to the fact that they're not cooked. But here, that's the only way I get my veggies. I don't buy fresh veggies here because I don't know most of them. Hehehe...they all look so foreign to me, from zucchini, I can't even think of more at the top of my head just because they seem so foreign to me. I've been forever obsessing though with trying those different kinds of berries that they have. They all look so colorful and delicious that I'm just too afraid to try them out for fear that I might end up getting disappointed. They all look so good, but do they taste as good? Hmm...I can't bear to be disappointed for now so I'm not going to try them out. Not yet anyways.

Oh, time for lunch...

There's a cafe called Market Creations on the ground floor where the Chicago HQ of our office sits and I am telling you, I go there from Monday to Friday, breakfast and lunch. They have a huge fruit, salad and entree buffet selection. And you pay for everything by the pound. Imagine getting fresh fruit, fillet of sole, rice (yes, they have rice EVERY DAY) and salad and a bottle of coke and for less than $7 in the Loop.
