A Typical Saturday

Before, I would wake up late in the morning, check my email as soon as I am up and then spend most of the day online either surfing or reading or playing neopets. Then have lunch, take a shower, take a nap or while the time away by watching TV. Dinner, then more TV and then go online again. Either to make worksheets for work or just surf the net. Maybe read a few blogs here and there and maybe if I actually feel like writing something, write in my blog. Then its off to bed.

Since I started school again this June, my typical Saturday has changed. I wake up early to do my laundry. I want to do it Friday night so I can sleep longer in the morning. Since I feel too tired to do it Friday, I wake up early Saturday mornings, around 5:30 am or 6:00 am at the latest. I do laundry for an hour. Then have breakfast, shower and then dress up for school.

By 7:30 or 7:45 am, I am out of the house and going to school. If there is no traffic or the bus doesn't stay so long in the bus stop, I arrive in Baclaran and then hail a jeep going to the MRT.

Since I have a 100 peso card for the MRT, I breeze through the MRT station. Unless there's a line going in. I board the MRT at the first stop, in the Taft Station. Usually, I sit on the side where the door opens where I get off.

I arrive at Shaw Boulevard around 8:45 or 9 am in time for breakfast at McDonald's. I usually eat their longganisa meal with orange juice. Sometimes, I pass by Mercury Drug to buy vitamins if I run out or bottled water just in case I get thirsty. Then I board the jeep from Kalentong to Shaw and then get off at school.

I meet with my thesis adviser in her classroom. She has a Saturday class in the graduate school and in between the reports, I talk to her about my paper. My classmate Regina, also comes and we consult with her. If Frank comes by, it feels like a reunion. Frank has already finished his degree but he was our classmate once upon a time. We exchange stories about his work experience since he is a new teacher and other concerns that we have about school. Sometimes, we eat lunch in the canteen or go out of the campus to Chow King to eat lunch.

After that, I go home and arrive around 3 or 4 depending on the traffic. Then the cycle repeats again the weekend after. That's how my Saturday is going to be until the end of the trimester which is October. I'm looking forward to writing another typical Saturday for me. But in the mean time...

What to write about

For the last two months or so, I've been agonizing about what to write in my blog. Although writing about what is happening to my country is something that I can write about. I feel like I won't be able to do justice to writing political pieces or maybe I'd rather keep my political opinion to myself. Or maybe its just writer's block. Hehehehe.

Another day at work...

It was the usual day at work, well, not that usual since it rained so we had to wait for the rain to abate somewhat. To pass the time, we though of taking some pictures at the faculty room. And I thought it was a good idea to put pictures in my blog since it has been a long time since I placed anything in my blog.

The first picture is of Jorge and Joanne.

Oh, what made it not that usual is that we're not going to have work on Monday because of the SONA (State of the Nation Address) of the president.

The next pictures are of me and Laryh. We had to take it three times. Third time was the charm.

Hmmm....

Today, I don't really feel like doing anything. I think all that thinking Friday night killed even more gray matter. Hehehehe.

No ironing, no TV, no work. The only thing I've done today is sleep and eat. I should snap out of it soon and enjoy what's left of my weekend.

Wahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A bouncing Chapter 2

I didn't get enough sleep today. For most of the night and early morning, I was laboring long and hard...and after so much hard work and guzzling tons of soda, I might add, I finally produced my bouncing Chapter 2. Hehehehe. Yeah, I was like Zeus with Athena coming out of the head. I didn't get a headache but it lasted so long I worked til the wee hours of the morning.

It was definitely worth it. While printing the twenty-something pages, I was glad to see everything in print. At least Chapter 2. Whew!!! I'd say that the bulk of the research is found in chapter 2 with the review of related literature as well as the conceptual and theoretical framework and other parts like definition of terms, research paradigm, to name a few.

I think the hardest part to do was looking for the related literature. I used mostly online stuff and materials found in the library as well. The verdict? I won't know til next week but I am hoping that it is someting favorable. Wish me luck!!!

Meantime, I will get that well-deserved sleep tonight after watching TV. Hehehe.

Trying out the image feature

It's been awhile since I placed any type of picture. Usually, I use Picasa but with the addition of the Add image button, it might actually be easier to add photos. Well, here it goes then.

This is my first and original neopet, Cupcake (the blue Lupe). I adopted two more afterwards.

The second one is Mayzen (the yellow Lupe). Can you tell that I love Lupes? The last one that I adopted is a red skeith, hot_chair. I hate it when hot_chair eats stuff from the inventory whenever he gets hungry. That's the disadvantage of skeiths, they eat anything. He already gobbled up my first plushie that I got from the welcome kit, a mirror and the most recent one, a toothpaste.
