Target, here I come!!!

The first time I went to Target, I had a lot of stuff I had to buy, from hangers (which I was obsessing), to the laundry bag, pillow, etc. Yesterday, I decided to go on my own and explore on my own Cupertino. I admit that I've not a lot of spatial intelligence...lol...but I wanted to see if I'd be able to do it on my own. Luckily, I have and I'm glad that I did it.

Its not a long walk going to Target from where I live. But, if you had to carry heavy bags, then the walk could be tedious. So anyways, I finally got around to looking around Target. I started with bags, wallet, clothes, shoes, electronics, books and finally, I bought soda, rechargeable batteries and a water bottle for my water. Hehehe...

The walk and the heavy load was well worth it. When I got home, I placed ice in my glass and had soda...oh, I love it. But sadly, it didn't last long. I was hoping to go to Target again today, but we had something to do. Maybe tomorrow.

Memorial Park

There was this one instance when I had to check google maps for a place when I saw that we lived close to a memorial park. When I heard that, I thought it was like a cemetery....hehehe...alas, its not. Its just a park dedicated to Veterans. The park is close to the Sports Center and the Community Center here in Cupertino. What I like looking at are the ducks. They swim in the pool and they really look funny with their butts sticking out of the water as they look for food. Then there are geese too. We're not supposed to feed them so we don't promote agressive behavior and they seem to be well adjusted when it comes to people. If I'm curious about them, then I'm sure they are curious about us too...hehehe...

First Day of School

I felt really nervous during my first day of school. But I must say my instructional assistants, Alicia, Zoe and Nancy helped me out a lot as well as Melissa, the teacher who's leaving. Our classrooms isn't perfect but its getting there...hehehe...after all, perfection is boring. Hopefully, as the days go by, we're going to have the opportunity to add something to the classroom in time for Back to School Night sometime in September.

Anywyas, I was up early and I got to school early (since I carpool with Alicia) so I'd feel prepared for school. I got the attendance, checked my box and made sure that come 8:15am, I was waiting with them for the children who come by schoolbus. There was another child who was an early bird so we waited with him.

Its different teaching kindergarten. I feel like I'm not really a preschool teacher. I feel more like a first grade teacher although in class, I have kids who are first and second graders. But since I have more preschoolers, then I am forced to do the routines more suited for kindergarteners.

What makes it the same though is that it is important to teach routines early on. Since the class is SDC, even something as basic as walking or sitting, we have to practice to. Slowly, we're getting there and I hope that at the end of the month, the kids will show some improvement when it comes to doing really basic stuff in the room.

Friday came and I think it was a little better than Thursday. There were still first day jitters and I don't think that will ever go away. In fact, I think that will always stay and will keep me on my toes.

Monday will be another first day of school...hehehe.

Welcome to Cupertino!!!

Today is my fourth day here in Cupertino. We went to Church and then to Marina Foods. Then we went to the Summer Barbecue. We're supposed to sign our lease today but the other teacher here hasn't returned from her trip with her cousins. We're thinking of going to Target later so I can get much needed supplies of detergent (powder and liquid), hanger and maybe some containers. I miss home cause of my family and the little stuff, like yes, hangers, ironing board, detergent, containers, mom's cooking, mom's cooking and my family. And texting my friends. I can't text using my fone anymore cause I ran out of credit...wah...

And most of all, I don't have to run after the bus. Like what I'm doing here...lol

Friday - Saturday - Sunday

Friday - The worse traffic every!!!

Friday was the the worse traffic ever!!!! I was stuck in Aguinaldo Highway for two hours. Luckily, it wasn't a trip that required my being present somewhere promptly otherwise, I would have been dreadfully late. I left the house, according to my mom around 7:30 am. The usual trip to Dasma, via the jeep, and then a bus, Jasper Jean, that plies the Edsa route. I was going to Landmark in Makati for some serious shoe shopping. I remember Laryh once told me that Landmark is the place to be for serious shoe shopping and its true. So there, I was, confident that I'd be in Makati bright and early, maybe even early enough to eat before shopping or be there before the store opens. But when I got to Imus, around 8:30 am, we were stuck for hours. The bus was full of people since it was still early morning and we weren't moving. I saw a lot of people walking instead of talking the jeep or the bus because we weren't moving. We were like there for two hours. I was fidgeting in my seat...hehe...and serioously thought about getting off and then going back home. But then I thought about my fare and how wasteful it was going to be. Since I waited and we waited and we waited some more. It felt like everyone wanted to get out of Cavite but couldn't. I did see a lot of huge trucks, cargo trucks around. I asked Jenneth where she was because she was supposed to go see the developmental pediatrician with her student. She too was caught in traffic. Apparently, there was a container van that had toppled over. Probably, it was overloaded and the driver was speeding crazily in the dark and lo and behold, lost control of the truck. Those dang truckers!!! They don't know what they're doing. Breaking all the rules thinking they own the road. Well, hello, now everyone's paying the price.

Finally, we started moving after and got to Coastal without a problem. I finally arrived in Makati around 11:20 am. I was very hungry and decided to have lunch at Jollibee in Glorietta. I didn't want to faint from hunger while shoe shopping.

I was in shoe heaven in Landmark, and if I had a lot of cash, I would've bought more shoes. hehehe...

I finished my shoe mission at around 2pm and decided it was time to go home. I waited for the Jasper Jean bus again but since it took awhile and I was anxious to start my trip home, I decided to take the bus passing by Coastal. From there, I got into another bus for Imus. The bus was full, as usual, so I sat beside the driver. And whadya know, it was traffic again. I thought I was going to avoid the traffic but no, it was like a continuation of my morning experience. The driver and I while waiting to move, got to chatting about what happened in the morning. Lucky for them they hadn't gotten stuck. But I told them that I was one of the unlucky people who did. He mentioned that the accident had happened at around 1am and the container van was stuck there in the morning and was in the process of being moved that was why traffic was very heavy in the morning. When we did get to Talaba, I saw that it was only the Aboitiz truck left without its cargo but still, traffic was slow.

That was like the worse traffic day ever!! I hope that I don't have to experience that again.

Saturday - Fort Bonifacio, here I come!!!

My mom had to go to the doctor on Saturday so she told me when I got home Friday afternoon that I should go with her to see her doctor in Fort Bonifacio. I asked her what time we would leave and she said 8am. Not that early, so I should be fine...hehehe...

The day was warm and I was a little excited to go there. I've probably only been in Fort Bonifacio, once on a field trip when we went to Adidas Sports Kamp, I think was the name of the place. And I had taken the bus that plies that route once when I attended Lance's christening in Forbes..I forgot the name of the church, was that Sanctuario? hehehe...

So, we took the Jasper Jean bus again. The trip was uneventful at first but when we got to Edsa, in Baclaran, the bus we were on was stopped by the MMDA. Apparently, they said that the driver committed a traffic violation but we couldn't think of any. So, anyways, they settled it in the usual way (yeah, is there any other way to settle it?) and then when we got to I think that was almost in Malibay, we were stopped again by another traffic enforcer for another violation. Well, I think there was no violation. But who are we, mere peasants to argue with them. Dang...hehehe...two violations. We were starting to joke that when we got to Ayala, they'd be stopped with another violation again. But luckily, not anymore. We got off at our stop and looked for the bus going to Market Market. The bus was already full so we waited for the next one and paid twenty four pesos (twelve pesos each, back then, it was ten pesos) and sat in front. I really didn't know where we were going, cause I never got that far before so I left it to my mom to tell me it was our stop. Well, apparently, it is the last stop (Market Market) so we didn't get lost. We went to her HMO, Healthquest on the fourth floor and I waited outside while she was waiting for her turn. Took awhile before she finished so it was around 12 when we went to KFC for lunch. In the meantime, my sister decided to go there too so she could take us to her apartment in Pateros. After lunch, we bought pasalubong for them and then took the jeep to Pateros. It was a short jeepney ride and then a short tricycle ride and then we got to her place. The baby was asleep so we watched TV and had dessert. Finally, my nephew / godson decided to wake up, so we spent time talking to him...hehehe. His responses were smiles or drool...hehehe...he just loves it when people talk to him. He also showed us some of the "tricks" that he has learned...hehehe...its amazing how fast they grow.

At around 2pm, we left and went to Guadalupe where we were going to take the Jasper Jean bus in EDSA. On our way there, I saw finally, where University of Makati (UMak) was. Hmm...I didn't know it was there. And as usual, the bus was filled to the rafters. My mom wanted to get down, but I told her, that beggars can't be choosers. My mom finally got to sit down when someone alighted in Talaba and so did I after a few minutes. All in all, it was tiring day. It was tiring standing up for a long period of time in a bus...hehehe...it was just great that the bus driver didn't linger anymore. Otherwise, it would've meant even longer time standing up...ugh...

Sunday - What not to take: Indang!!!

I thought I would have a relaxing day today. Mom said that we were going to go to Robinson's during the day. So as usual, I took a long leisurely shower, well, for a change anyways that's why I showered early so I wouldn't have to rush. Dallied in her room, drying my hair, playing with some games on my phone and then came down to the living room to continue with my game. Then, mom said I should just go alone to Robinson's, which was fine with me. So we had lunch and I felt sleepy afterwards. Mom kept on bugging me when I'd leave and I was like, umm, later...hehehe. I was really sleepy.

Finally, it was like 12nn and I still showed no signs of moving. Mom said that I should go already since this person she's sending money to was like asking her already if she'd sent it. So there I was trying to brush the sleep from my eyes and hurriedly getting dressed. As usual, I had stuff I needed to go: go to Church in Dasma, send money to LBC, buy medication in Mercury, buy a vase in Japan home, buy flowers from her "suki" and then buy pizza from Pizza Hut. So I left with my errands and went to church as planned and then looked for a jeep that was going to take me to Robinson's. Alas, I took Indang...hmm...not the right jeep for me. I ended up walking a long ways because they took another route and didn't go straight like Silang does..oh well. Lesson learned. Reminded me of Alanis Morrisette's song, "You live, you learn" (is that the right title?) and yeah, I did learn. Don't take that jeep again unless I'm going to Indang...hehehe..(wherever that is). I did get to Robinson's after a bit of walking, did my errands. No medicine for my mom though, and no vase. And no flowers because I couldn't remember the face of my mom's suki. But at least I was able to buy pizza, send money and go to Church and what a warm day it was. I was really thirsty going home. Oh, hotness.

And that sums up my Friday - Saturday and Sunday. I wonder what's in store for me tomorrow? Delbros please, Delbros please...hehehe...

Iz so itzchy...

I had my skin test reading last umm...oh yeah, Aug. 1 and I'm A-ok. But man, is it still itchy. I have this urge sometimes to scratch it. Jen says that it took awhile before it disappeared. It looks red and ugly like I have some sort of skin disease. Hehehe. But so far, no one has looked at me with distaste, what a relief!!

And the best news, I'm fit to work...work where? Hmmm....

I'll write more if there's something to write about.
