What is PPD?

I could resist searching what it means. After all, they did inject me with something. I only caught the Protein part. But now, after reading it, I understand what it means.

Find out what it means.

I'm Almost Pulling Out my Hair!!!

Yeah, my week was that frustrating. It started on Saturday and seems to be neverending. I'll know by Monday next week if this has all been worth it.

Anyways, I've had my share of physical exams but this one is the hardest. I've never felt so tired afterwards. I started at 1pm and ended at 5 pm and its not yet over. I had to go back today for my PPD (nope that's not a horrible disease) and then go back on Friday for the interpretation. Probably the only test that I didn't have was the Audiometry. But I had dental, x-rays, eye exam, blood drawn up for I don't know what tests, including HIV and I don't know what else. And the unforgettable Psych exam. The only thing missing was them asking me to draw a man and a woman and say something about them. My hand ached after answering all those questions and it took me about an hour to complete it.

So tomorrow, yee hah!!! And I meant that sarcastically, I'm going to see the dentist...hu hu hu. Why does it have to hurt? Hehehe...

But the good thing out of it? Yeah, there's always a silver lining, I got to visit SM Centerpoint. Nope, there's nothing extraordinary there but it certainly brought back a lot of old memories. When I first came to Manila way back in 1992, we stayed with our cousins and they lived in Gardenville (I wonder if its still there) which was just behind Centerpoint. So the mall was like our little playground. Didn't take much effort to go there. We did our shopping there, hanging around, etc. Looking at it, it seems so small now compared to the other malls but it holds a special place in my heart only because we used to hang out in there...hehehe...we'd just sit in the food court to pass the time or the benches when they used to put them there. It did flood there one time when the creek overflowed and I had to walk home. Yeah, no fun with the water. I wonder if that area is still prone to floods...not a good thing.

And yeah, riding G Liner. Back then, AC G Liners were not so common. But that didn't stop us from going to Greenhills or Robinsons Ortigas. I miss Greenhills, what the heck, I miss shopping. Now I miss Divisoria. *Sigh* I miss a lot of things.

Almost a Culinary Disaster

Today, I had to face one of the biggest challenges in culinary history...hehe..hey, what can I say? I'm a bad bad bad cook. And since Annalou doesn't know how to make adobo, I had to make it. I sort of dreaded doing it when my mom told me I had to make it.

So, when I woke up today, I thought it was already past nine and I had to rush downstairs to take it out of the fridge. I had to thaw it out before I could cook it. But after putting away the bed, I realized that it was still a little before eight. I was probably cross-eyed when I looked at the clock, lol.

After breakfast, I got this whole pile of meat from the freezer, looking for the pork. I almost got the chicken...hehehe...yeah well, I don't exactly have vast experience when it comes to cooking. I stay clear out of it, if I can. Unless, its only me who gets to eat it, then I won't mind cooking. But other people have to eat it too (not too mention canine and feline)? Yeah, I'll need to make the sign of the cross first before I even start.

After washing the pork, after it had thawed, I put some black pepper and salt. Then I took a quick shower sort of to relax myself before the dreaded event.

It did turn out okay, no one, dog and cat and us were poisoned, I didn't burn it and it tasted okay. Yes!!! It tasted a bit sour but I put in a little sugar so that should've neutralized it. I was a bit worried that since I used beef cubes instead of pork cubes, it would taste beefy. But it did taste like pork, but then I wouldn't know, I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to these things.

I wonder what we're going to have tomorrow. Makes me really count the days when mom comes back after vacation. We miss her cooking and the we isn't just me and Annalou but from Sox and Kulit (Colet as my mom spells it) too.

Huhuhu...

Yeah, I'm depressed about something that I can't talk about, 'cause I don't want to depress everyone else...hehehe...but its great to be able to say that I'm depressed / worried / anxious about it. It's gotten to the point that when I heard something really great about something, I was like...ughh...No!!!!! Yeah, bad bad bad me.

But at least I'm writing about it. And hopefully, making something for someone (lesson plan related) is going to distract me from it that I'll forget about it for a couple of minutes. It'll be great to make someone's day. Although I wish someone or something, would make my day.

It would cheer me up a bit if my Scribefire would work now too...crossing my fingers so I won't have to log into my account.

Surely, that's not too much to ask?

Hmmm...

My Scribefire has been crazy lately...grrr...

And a second defense...wapak!!!

Yeah, I had my case study defense last week, July 3. It was originally scheduled July 4 and when I went there last Tuesday, that was when the secretary told me. She said I could move it to the week after if I wanted. But what the heck, I figured I might as well have it over and done with. So it was moved a day earlier.

Thursday morning was rather bleak, dreary and wet. Hopefully, not a reflection of what the day was going to be. So there was I was, with a sleepless night, with my bags full of clothes and my papers and other things. Wearing disreputable jeans, a shirt and of course, slippers. After all, its Intramuros in Manila so I wanted to be prepared just in case there was ummm...flooding...hehehe.

The trip going there was quite cold. The bus was packed with people but I got there at the expected time. I had time to enroll and pay for the case study. I saw another student who was also having her case study defense like me. She used to be my classmate when I was taking my last 9 units and she was going to be presenting first. I was scheduled at three-thirty.

We had time to chat and plan on what we were going to buy for snacks for the panelists. We made calls and settled for something simple for them to eat as well as the people in the office too. Then we had lunch and we waited and waited til it was 1pm. I changed and then Ms. Jenneth, my molar support as I call her arrived. Hurrah. I was feeling more and more nervous while waiting. Finally, the started and we waited at the Chancellor's office. Ms. Jenneth and I chatted to pass the time and from time to time I would read my paper just to help me remember details.

Finally, it was time for me to go since it was 3pm. Presentation went well. Ms. Jenneth stayed to watch. I originally didn't want her there but I figured, she might was well learn from my experience. All in all, I was satisfied with my presentation and now I'm working on my final revisions.

Yehey!!! Finally have it over and done with...its not comparable as the first defense that I have. It's kinda different but all the same, I am happy with what I have done. And I love my grade too, Excellent!!! Call me master, soon...wapak!!!!

Another great day with friends...

Finally, I got together with Madz and Mai. Since Mai had been busy studying and later on reviewing for her nursing exams, this was the first time in a long while that we had been together. We wanted to take advantage of longer hanging out time so we decided to meet for brunch. Madz had tutorials at 3pm so earlier was definitely better.

I tried as usual to wake up early. I left the house a little past eight-thirty. And I got to Southmall around ten-thirty. Not bad. I think I did pretty well estimating the time. I had time to go to CD R king minus the crowd. Sadly, I could not find a parallel to usb cable, they ran out of stock. Then to my favorite place, Booksale for some books but I couldn't find one that I liked well enough to buy. And by then, they were in SM so I met up with them near the fountain as we call it...hehehe...

We had lunch at Max's. And let the chat begin...never a dull moment. When we did finish lunch at Max's, they asked us to complete a survey of some sorts. Hehehe...I know, my drawing looked funny but I never said I was an artist. Good enough for a first grade / aspiring special ed teacher that I am. At least it had character.

Then we moved on to Starbucks for some more hanging out time. I had the usual tall Mocha Frap and so did Mai and Madz had the Strawberry thingy. And again, let the marathon chat begin. Madz ended up cancelling her tutorial at 3pm. We finally left Southmall at 5pm. Madz heading out to tutorials, Mai to her umm....her own way and me, going on home to the far off land of Cavite.

I'm looking forward to seeing them again...very very soon...Miss ya gals!!!! Mwah!!!

Welcome to the Christian World, my first Godson / Nephew, Chinoy!!!

Finally, my dear darling, second nephew, Alexander Luc aka Chinoy as my mom and I call him, became a Christian, specifically Catholic last July 5.

He was christened in Christ the King Church in Greenmeadows with me and Cheng, my sister's college buddy with the ninongs absent...hehehe...so it was only me and Sheng who held him while Holy water was poured over his forehead. I've got the video to prove it but no picture since I wasn't the one holding the camera...But I'm so glad that I finally have my first godson. I'll write more details next time.
