My Life Without a Mobile Phone (For a while)

It's strange not to have a mobile phone.

I know, I probably sound like one of those people who can't survive without a mobile phone, probably, I am one of those people but I tried it a couple of years back during my first year when I was taking my masters degree. My old 3310 I think Nokia phone broke down and I had no choice but to have it fixed. So I left it with the Nokia service center in far off Quezon City (since I live in LPC) and they told me that I could call from time to time to check if it had been fixed. Back then, I tried to survive without it. What I missed the most about it was that it was my alarm clock and of course, getting updates about classes, whether we had one or about assignments.

So I finally relented and bought another Nokia phone when it broke down again the second time around. I figured it wasn't worth all that effort to go back to QC and pay for the service only to have it break down again. Now, I will have to do things the old fashioned way, call people using a landline or if worse gets to worse, feel like a cave person...hehehe...the disadvantage that I see though is that it will be difficult for me to get updates on prospective employers. I can of course borrow my old phone from my mom or I can just suffer through the next 2 - 4 weeks without a phone. I won'der if I'll surive...

I can't buy a new phone since my SE that broke is rather new. It would be a waste of money. But that remains to be seen if it means me getting a new job soon...oh, choices, choices.....'
